How reward points work
A thank-you for repeat business — not a discount scheme. Points accrue on what you actually spend and come off a future order.
Your first order earns 2.5× points
At the starting rate that's 12.5% back on your first order, credited once it's paid.
Earning
You earn points on the product value of every paid order. 1 point = 1¢, so your points-per-dollar rate is the same number as your percentage back.
| Status | Earn rate | Back | Reached at | Free shipping over |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Researcher | 5 points / $1 | 5% | Starting status | $99 |
| Fellow | 7 points / $1 | 7% | $500 in 12 months | $75 |
| Principal | 10 points / $1 | 10% | $1,500 in 12 months | $75 |
Status is based on a rolling 12-month window of paid orders, reviewed continuously. It reflects what you've bought in the last year, so it can go down as well as up. Reaching a new status applies to your next order, not the one that qualified you.
What doesn't earn
- Shipping and taxes — we don't mark those up.
- The portion of an order paid with points.
- Refunded orders. Points earned on a refunded order are reversed.
- Wholesale accounts, which are priced separately.
Redeeming
- Redeem from 500 points ($5), in $5 blocks.
- Up to half of an order's product value can be paid with points.
- Points can't be combined with a promotional or affiliate code on the same order.
- Points apply to product value only, not shipping or tax.
- Two ways to spend them: apply points in the cart at checkout, or convert them into a reward coupon from your account and use it on a later order.
Reward coupons
From your account page you can turn points into a coupon and keep it for a future order.
- The points leave your balance when the coupon is created, and the coupon holds that value until you use it.
- Because points can cover at most half an order, each coupon shows the minimum product subtotal it can be used on — a $15 coupon needs an order of $30 or more.
- Coupons belong to the account that created them. They can't be transferred or used by anyone else.
- One coupon or one points redemption per order, and neither combines with a promotional or affiliate code.
- Cancel an unused coupon at any time and the points go straight back on your balance.
- If an order paid for with a coupon is refunded, the coupon returns to your account rather than the points.
Referrals
Every account has a referral code. When a lab you refer places their first paid order, you receive 500 points. A referred account can only be attributed to one referrer, and referral points are credited once.
Expiry
Points expire after 12 months of inactivity. Any paid order resets the clock on your whole balance. Your account page always shows the date your current balance would lapse, and flags it as that date gets close, so it never arrives as a surprise.
A reward coupon expires 12 months after you create it. If that happens, the points go back on your balance — converting points to a coupon never destroys them.
Terms
- Points have no cash value. They are not currency, not stored value, not a gift card, and cannot be redeemed for cash, transferred, sold, or willed.
- Points are personal to the account and the email address that earned them.
- We may change earn rates, status thresholds, redemption rules or point values, or end the programme, at any time. Material changes will be announced by email to account holders and take effect prospectively.
- Points earned on an order that is later refunded, charged back, or cancelled are reversed. If a balance goes negative, no points are redeemable until it returns to positive.
- We may withhold, reverse, or cancel points and close accounts where we reasonably believe the programme is being abused, including artificial referrals, duplicate accounts, or resale activity.
- Reward status is not a discount agreement and does not apply to wholesale or quoted pricing.
- The programme is void where prohibited and open only to those able to purchase from Azend under our Terms.
For laboratory research use only. Azend products are sold strictly for in-vitro laboratory and research purposes and are not for human or veterinary use. Participation in this programme does not change that. Last updated 28 July 2026.
